Order Process

Order Process

The following information will help understand the procedure to ordering and installing new counters. Although this information focuses on kitchen countertops, the process is either same or similar for most countertop installations.

Cost factors

1. The cost of countertops depends on the following factors:
2.Type of stone selected eg Granite, Quartz, Marble etc
3. The stone color group. eg. Granite colors are grouped into several price categories. It does not mean that one group color is superior to the other. The price is based on availability, freight costs and demand factors. We only work with the best quality stone.
4. Cut-outs for sinks, cook tops, core holes for faucets etc
5. Edge profiles . Price includes finished edges; but premium edges there is additional cost..
6. Sinks for kitchen and vanities, faucets etc
With some help from you, we can email or text you a free estimate.

Stone Selection

Several choices are available to choose from for the countertop material:
• Natural stone – Granite, Marble, Quartzite
• Quartz – is manufactured with a mixture of ground quartz, resins, and pigments.
1. Select the type of stone surface you wish to use for your countertops. We suggest you view the actual slabs prior to the approval of estimates.
2. Samples or images of the stone are not an exact representation of the actual slab.
3. Variations, veins, pattern flow differences etc are the nature of natural stone.
4. Although, you have time to finalize your stone color, until the start of fabrication, we suggest this should be done as a first step. A change in stone type or color group may result in substantial price difference.

Estimates

Get estimates for the job.  Please bring a layout and measurements of your project to get a rough estimate for your budgeting.
When you are ready to move forward with your project, we will discuss the terms of sale.
We then schedule a time for our team to get the field measurements or templates for production.

Process steps

Upon approval, schedule a day/time for starting the job. Once you confirm the job, the countertop project goes through the production steps of templating, fabrication, tear out and installation. Tear out and installation can be done on the same day.

Templating

1. On the day of templating, we need your countertops and the work area free of any objects. This will allow us to do the templates efficiently, and will protect your items from dust or damage.
2. Templating can take up to two hours or more. During the templating process, we prepare a pattern of your cabinets.
3. At this time: Sinks/cooktops/faucets: A final layout and all fixtures and appliances are required to be on-site at the time of templating.
4. Cabinets are reviewed for any adjustments required; to the best of our ability.
5. For proper installation of your countertops, we will discuss with you about: overhang, general support, personal preferences related seam placement, (and suggest modifications needed to cabinetry, if necessary etc.)
6. Estimate/Quote: At this stage, we will compare your drawing with the templates and check for any difference in the area of countertops. Any significant changes will be applied to the price accordingly and a final quote is presented.
7. Edge preference: We need the final confirmation of the type of edge profile for the countertops at this time. Payment: A deposit of 50% of the final estimated value of the project is required at this time.

Fabrication

  • Prior to fabrication, we require you review and give final approval of the slabs/material to be cut and items on the Post Template Checklist.
  • If your drawing submitted for your quote differs from your actual job we will let you know at this time and adjust the price difference accordingly.
  • No changes are accepted once the stone is cut.
 1. Tear Out: If your project requires that we tear out/remove your existing countertops, we will do so at the time of installation.
2. Please note: we strongly suggest that you schedule with a licensed professional plumber for disconnect/reconnection to avoid delays in using your kitchen. Our installers are not authorized to perform any plumbing or electrical or structural works. In some cases, we can help disconnect your plumbing at time of tear out, so be sure not to use your dishwasher until your plumber has reconnected the water.

Installation

At the time of installation, we require that the work area is clear of any objects and clear a path for the installers to carry the granite.
1. The installation process may take most part of a day. Where applicable, cut-outs for cook top, faucets, electrical outlets etc are done on site.
2. Our installers are equipped with equipment to clear most of the dust; however, this is a major remodeling job and there may be some residual dust over the next few days. So be sure to check items left in cabinets. We recommend the drawers be removed. Items under cook top and sink cabinet must be removed to allow access. Granite, if not resin coated, is sealed at time of installation.
3. Sink mounting: During installation, your under-mount sink(s), if applicable, will be mounted under your stone. Please keep this in mind when scheduling your plumber to reconnect the water and drain. Also, cook tops and faucets, etc. will be dropped into place for confirmation of fit.
4. Job Completion: Your inspection of the finished job is very important. The lead installer will review the installation with you, answer any questions you may have.
